About

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."

Artist Bio:

I am a recent graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead, in Moorhead Minnesota. I have obtained my Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) with an emphasis in photography. After graduation I moved back to my hometown a suburb of the Greater Twin Cites. I do not know what the future has in store for me, but I know one this is art will be involved. No matter where my life leads I will continue to do freelance work and taking the appropriate steps towards my final goal of being a documentary, travel, or underwater photographer for National Geographic.

Artist Statement:

As a fine art photographer I have worked in many different realms of photography. Everything from traditional portraits, and family photographs to abstract, travel, documentary, and even some experimental styles of shooting. The styles I find myself drawn to the most are travel and documentary photography. They both provide ever-changing elements and content to shoot and I believe this is what has captured my attention the most. The work I am currently producing is through the use of digital photography, but I do like it to work with film and other alternative processes as well.

Previous Experience:

Art has always been a huge part of my life, ever since I was a little girl I have always been drawing, making, or doing something creative with every free moment I had. It was not until high school that I began to focus my artistic passion on photography. While attending high school I took all the photography classes available and became a teacher’s assistant for the classes I had already taken, because I just couldn’t get enough. It was during this time I began to work with Tom Dunn from Tom Dunn Photography, which is based out of St. Paul, Minnesota. It was through working along side Tom that I learned many valuable lessons that only on-the-job experience can offer. He taught me how to work with clients to achieve the best product possible, to trust in my instincts as a photographer, and to always keep pushing myself to produce better work. He along with the other great mentors I have had in the photography world, have led me to where I am today.
